I Am Here - Description and UseHow to Use I Am HereI Am Here gives you the capability to call up a map, touch/click a spot on the map and Send an email containing a link to that exact map point. You can use it on iPhones, iPod touches, PCs, Macs, or just about any device that has a "full" browser. To use I Am Here first create a profile. You can edit the profile to add a second email recipient, change the text of the title or email body, change your password, or add a photo link. However, you do not have to do anything additional after you create your profile in order to use I Am Here. If you are using an iPhone or iPod touch there is a Hold button in the top bar. Use Hold to position and/or zoom the map. Then touch the Hold button again to re-enable point detection. To generate a spot marker simply touch/click a spot on the map. Don't worry if you miss the exact location since the system only uses the last spot you touched. After you are satisfied that you spot marker is on the exact location touch/click the Send button. Enter your User ID and Password on the next screen and the system will automatically sends the email(s). If you would like to include a photo in your email you could use any of the free photo sharing websites available on the web. Possibly the best photo sharing website is www.photobucket.com. At PhotoBucket you can create a free account and upload / email as many photos as you like to it for free. You can then add a photo link to your I Am Here email by setting the photo URL into your profile (PhotoBucket calls it a direct link). Click here to review PhotoBucket's tutorial. The tutorial explains how to use their services with the iPhone or other Internet browsers. The photo URL is usually very long and difficult to enter on a mobile device. Usually it is easier to first setup the mail service up on a Mac or PC and preset an Image URL into the profile. Then while you are mobile you could email a photo from your mobile phone, receive the acknowledgement email, then change only the last few characters of the image URL in the profile. Quick Links...
